Is the end near?
After six months of play i am finally thinking about giving up guild wars altogether. For the most part guild wars has been good to me. i have had some good times and met some good folks.. But after having spent over a thousand hours in chapter 1.
I just cant find the motivation to do anything in chapter 2. Not because of the fact that im tired of playing.. but because of the fact that the same old mission stuff with a few twists like " hurry up and finish and you will get some gold".. is repeating itself over and over again.
Now some would say.. just spend your time in constant search of money and items.. well a while back i took 2 months off this game.. and when i came back neither factions or prophecies chests dropped for me. and monsters.. well they love to give me crap white items.. i have gotten all my gold and great items through the grind in towns .. haggling for better prices. living for the "buy low, Sell high" ideal...
Sadly i grow tired of haggling. so what is there to do when neither farming, chest running, missions, or the market have any apeal to me at all?
Ahh yes pvp is the last option. and oh ya is it just as painfully redundant as everything else.. hammer warrior here.. touch ranger there.. and a crazy 55 monk every once and a while that makes me smile..
I guess what im getting at is the game is getting stale... redundancy.. dropped pugs.. all that is getting old.. i tire of getting drunk alone in la for my unreachable drunkard title.
But in the end.. what really tipped my hat for quitting.. is the fact that uw now EXCLUSIVLY is the place for crap items.. one or two ecto a night is not enough to keep me comming back to uw to deal with the crap down there. I mean damn its the highest level area in the game and i get a grape outa 90 percent of the chests? i remember thinking to myself that i could get better drops from kryta missions.
Does anyone feel the same way? is guildwars a sinking ship?
Does chapter 3 have anything new instore or will it be just another mindless "expansion pack". make no mistake that is pretty much all that factions is for prophecies players... and for factions only players.. im sorry you only got half a game.
In the end this is just a rant.. wich is why its in off topic forum.. but it would be nice to know if someone else felt the same way i do..
rants and stories and all sortsa crazy stuff is what this forum topic is for.. so keep the flames to a small wildfire size

Send some loot and stuff my way if you're really leaving.
Other than that... Sad to see another one go because they cant enjoy a game for being a game.

Well I've always played GW in cycles, started a char, completed the game, stopped playing for a month or two, started another, completed the game, stopped again, repeated cycle.
I never liked farming, I still don't, and I don't farm so I have no clue on the ecto droprates, nor I do care about that. I had bit similar situation few months ago, and it was clear to me at the time, that I either get in PvP, or quit the game completely. Factions arrived, I completed the storyline, didn't really like it that much, and tried Aspenwood, and found that really fun. I still enjoy it, and expanded to do AvA, which I enjoy maybe even more. It's fun, and seems to keep me in the game for a little longer. I'll prolly find even more to do after new char slots arrive and I get to make those last missing professions to play with.

I get bored of GW No and then, but it's just cuz I cba to do anything on it lol! When I actually do something on Guild Wars, like carry on the Factions storyline, every mission gets me more excited, but thats just my two cents; you have completed the storyline, but then again, I have completed the Tyrian storyline, but I still find things to do there, like achieve titles or something! :P

Unfortunately nothing lasts forever, and the only constant in life is change. I doubt I'll play Guildwars for another full year exclusively. It really depends on the next chapters and how the game evolves. I'm always willing to try new games.

Try to go for the elite missions since you fail them 99% of the time...That keeps me going when I get bored with missions and farming.

The Deep is easier of the elite mission and a good group can do it in 1:30 hours.
